The Rizespor attacker who was dropped from the Africa Cup of Nations team because of injury has started playing againSuper Eagles striker, Uche Kalu who was forced out of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations because of injury has started training again after two months of inaction.
Kalu was with the team in Faro during their preparation for the tournament in South Africa, but had to pull out because of the injury and has also stayed out of club action in Turkey.
He was the leading goal scorer with his club, Rizespor with nine strikes and will strive to start training with his club in no distant time.
Kalu told Goal.com from Turkey that he is happy he is back to action once again.
"I want to thank God for helping me to get back on my feet. I want to say that it is a thing of joy that I am back to training.
"When I realised that I will not be able to make it to the Nations Cup, it seemed as if my career had ended. But I braced up and told myself that it is not the end of the world. And I am back to start playing again.
"My physiotherapy is going on very well. I can run now. I can kick the ball and I don't feel any pain.
"I want to thank my family and my club for the way they stood by me, especially my club President. They really showed me love," Kalu said.
His manager, Barrister Chike Onyeacho however said that Kalu will have to recover fully before he starts playing competitive football again.
"Uche is young and has a lot to contribute to football. It is good he is back," Onyeacho revealed.
Uche Kalu played for Enyimba before he moved to Rizespor on a year loan.
