Chelsea winger, Victor Moses scored in the 73rd minute of their fifth round FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough on Wednesday thus helping his team into the sixth round.
Moses scored the second goal of the game which calmed the nerves of the team and its supporters as they swept aside their Championship opponents to book a date to face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the pick of the quarter final matches on March 10.
Moses was the pick of the Chelsea team especially in the first half when he had Middlesbrough’s George Friend on the ropes with his running and trickery.
In the 31s minute, Moses took on Friend and squared for Oscar but the Brazilian midfielder’s shot was too tame to trouble the goalkeeper.
His goal was as a result of a delightful interchange of passes between Eden Hazard and Oscar and Hazard laid the ball on a plate for a simple tap in for the Nigerian, who also scored in the third round against Southampton before leaving for the Nations Cup.
He was substituted five minutes after his goal by Marko Marin.
Moses has now scored six goals for Chelsea in his first season. Meanwhile his compatriot, Mikel Obi was rested ahead of the league game against West Brom on Saturday as Chelsea aim to reclaim third spot from Tottenham.
