Combative player Cyril Oriaku has returned to action from the ankle problem he had recently, while Senegalese import Sane Ousmane will need to fly back to Dakar to get proper treatment on his ill-health which he said was owing to his changed environment.
Oriaku, a pivotal part of the Rangers squad that got a return to CAF inter club competition after nine years absence last season sustained the injury in Ilorin in a tune up game between Rangers and Kwara united which took place February 10.
He was subsequently sidelined for two weeks but has disclosed he has overcome the ankle injury and was ready for the start of the season on March 9.
Oriaku told Goal.com that he is ready for the new season: "I have fully recovered now, I had enough rest while my injury lasted.
Thank God I'm back and better. I want to thank the medics and physiotherapists who worked day and night to ensure I'm back on my feet. I also appreciate my team mates for their support while I was down.
"I am happy that our preliminary round opponents in the CAF Champions League, Sporting Clube do Principe did not show up and we got a berth to the next round without kicking a ball. "It would have been painful for me watching the game from the stands.
"I am prayed that I will start the first game of the season and God did it in a miraculous way through the walkover of the club from Sao Tome."
The experienced defender however noted he had no doubt in his mind that Rangers would do well in all the competitions they registered for this season.
He said he hinged his hope on the quality of players in the Rangers fold and the sound technical bench possessed by the club.
Senegalese defender,Sane Ousammane travel to Dakar on a week break to properly rest and treat himself of a strange ailment that has defiled orthodox treatment.
The former Sharks of Port Harcourt player said :"I have not eaten for the past five days,if I try eating, I will vomit it.
"I am on medication. I am so lean that you can count the bones in my ribs."
Sane attributes the ailment to the change of environment alluding to his days in Port Harcourt too when he newly joined Sharks.
" It was also the same when I joined Sharks. Hardly do I adapt easily to a new environment. it is even affecting my game but I know once I return fully,I will be unstoppable," Sane expressed.
