Heartland block Happy Okuoka's Turkish deal

The Naze Millionaires have convinced their star player that his future lies in the domestic league before seeking any dream move abroad
Heartland has blocked the plan of rave of the moment Happy Okuoka's desire to take his soccer skills to Turkey after his impressive display recently in the Kano pre-season tournament.

A source close to the player confirmed that the club sat Okuoka down and told him what he stands to gain if he gets more experience in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) before going abroad.

Okuoka, a rookie before he was spotted by the eagle eye of the Heartland's scouting team, scored two goals during the pre-season tourney to emerge as the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP) and also helped the Naze Millionaires to victory in the competition involving 4 clubs in the country who are carrying the nation's banner in the Caf inter-club competitions in 2013.

He was reported to be on the radar of top Turkish clubs and had started the procurement of his visas and other travel documents before he was told in clear terms not to put his mind on the trip for the stated reasons.

It would be recalled that Okuoka's form was instrumental to the Naze Millionaires' triumph in the pre-season tourney involving them and Lobi Stars (who are both in the 2013 Caf Confederation Cup) and Kano Pillars including Enugu Rangers (who are the nation's flag bearers in the 2013 Caf Champions League).

Heartland won the trophy with seven points after two wins (over Pillars and Lobi Stars) and a draw (against Rangers) while Pillars, Lobi and Rangers followed in that order.

Heartland will need him in the new season which starts March 9th. They have a home game against newly promoted Nembe City.
