The Aba Elephants defenders has vowed to put up impressive performance when they face his former side in Enugu
Ugwu Uwadiegwu of Enyimba has boasted that Rangers will fall at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium when they meet in a season opener on March 9.
According to the former Enugu Rangers full back, he will make sure that Rangers management regret everything they did to him when he was with them three seasons ago.
"I am very sure that Rangers will lose in that first game in Enugu because we have better players and we are highly motivated this season to return to the pinnacle of football in the country.
"I have looked at their team and noticed that they have not really blended because of the large number of players they recruited.
"I want to break the heart of Rangers management for what they caused me and my family when I was with them.
"Because I missed a penalty against Kano Pillars, majority of the coaches felt I am not a good player and they did not even wait for the end of the season to issue me a sack letter.
"How can anybody accuse me of deliberately missing a penalty in a game we eventually lost at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, which happens to be my famous home ground,” Uwadiegwu asked.
"They thought I will not get another club to play for, but I joined Enyimba and did my best. My joy knew no bounds when I scored against Rangers through a beautiful free kick in our game in Aba last season.
"We have recruited quality players this season. I know they have also strengthened their team, but they cannot challenge for honours as we are ready to beat them this season.
"We are looking forward to the game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium where I started my professional football.
"I have nothing against Rangers fans because they supported me while I was with the team. But some of their officials are not professional in the way they treat players.
"When I saw the fixture, I was very happy. Happy because we are playing away first and we have a compact team as every department is formidable.
"We are sure of the three points from that game and I am going to play a role in making sure Rangers lose their first game of the season," the Nsukka born player said.
Rangers will host Enyimba in the first game of the 2012/13 Premier League season which kicks off on March 9, 2013.
