Jos derby ends in fiasco

The league game in Plateau State was not completed after one of the teams abandoned the game owing to alleged dubious calls
The much celebrated Nigeria National League encounter between Giwa FC and Plateau United ended in a stalemate after the latter opted to discontinue game with the home team leading 1-0 in Jos.

Eye witness account says the centre referee Idris Umar Idris from Taraba State and the match commissioner Victor Nwagwu couldn't handle the match properly.

The source told that centre referee Idris displayed the highest level of incompetence with his questionable calls including two undeserved penalties given to Giwa Fc during the course of the game.

The source hinted that Sunday Omalele lost the first spot kick but was very calm to net the second for Giwa's first goal of the match. further gathered that the players and officials of Plateau United ran out of patience when the match arbiter continually gave calls meant to give Giwa Fc an edge in the contest and the match was later abandoned before the regulation time with the game at 1-0 in favour of Giwa FC.

They simply refused to continue play and the match ended tthat way.

No Nigeria National League official was on hand to react to the report.

The lower league will now have to wait for the official match report before they will take their decision on the game.
