Former Akwa United goalkeeper, Femi Thomas has told Goal.com that his new team, Enyimba will be the team to beat when the new season begins February 16th.Thomas noted that everything is working out right for the team and he is optimistic the team will regain its past glory in the coming season.
"I have seen a club that is ambitious are putting every structure in place to win the Nigeria Premier League trophy next season.
"The management have signed the right caliber of payers that is ready to write their names in gold in the history of the club.
"It is a different mentality once you have anything to do with the team. A player undergoes a new beginning and all these things will come into play when the season starts.
"The officials of the club are also doing their best to motivate the players. "Already we have been paid 50 percent of our sign on fees and that is a big boost to the players," Femi boasted.
Enyimba finished fourth last season with 52 but the Ex junior International says the Aba based side will do better next season.
"With the type of preparation we are putting in, I don't see any reason why Enyimba cannot win the trophy again. I am so sure because there is the right mix of players, very sound coaches and an experienced management.
"I know it will not be easy, but we have the capabilities to return to the summit of the Nigeria Premier League," he concluded.
