The country's U20 national team began their Nanka build up experience with a 1-0 defeat to NPL 2011/2012 runners up on Sunday
Nigeria's Flying Eagles lost 0-1 to Enugu Rangers in Nanka Sunday evening in a build up match to their African Youth Championship(AYC) slated for Algeria in March this year.
The Flying Antelopes scored the lone goal of the cagey tie as early as the 12th minute through former Dolphins' striker, Adamu Mohammed and didn't surrender that lead despite playing more than the last 30 minutes of the match with 10 men and a penalty call advantaged the country's U20.
Rangers' Ugonna Uzochukwu was given the marching orders by the centre referee in the 57th minute of the tie after the Flying Eagles had earlier fluffed a penalty awarded them in the first half. Emmanuel Daniel in goal for the Nigeria's other representative in the CAF Champions League caught the spot kick to protect his club's lead.
Flying Eagles are in Nanka to put finishing touches to their AYC defence which they won in South Africa two years ago before they jet out to Tunisia for the final part of the task in Algeria.
They have Congo DR, Gabon and Egypt to contend with in Group B during the AYC.
Rangers on their part used the tie to test the players they have in their armoury ahead of the clash with the Sao Tome's representative in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League which first leg holds in Enugu on February 17.
The second leg of the friendly game will come up in Enugu on Wednesday.
