The one time Kaduna United stalwart says toughness and mental alertness of the Eagles will be crucial against their foes from CataloniaCeltic defender, Efe Ambrose has charged the Super Eagles to go all out and fight the battle of their lives when they face Calatonia tonight in Spain.
Ambrose whose club would be involved in a Scottish Premier League clash later today against Motherwell told Goal.com that though on paper Eagles' opponents which boast of established players from Barcelona and Espanyol teams have an edge, Nigeria's side's approach to the game would be a determining factor.
He disclosed that if the Eagles could raise their game throughout the duration of the tie, anything could happen within the time limit that could turn the tide of the match.
The former Ashdod of Israel defender urged the Eagles not to be cowed by the intimidating record and the players assembled by Catalonia.
"It is only 90 minutes that will judge. Anything can happen within this period and so, people should not think that Eagles will lose even before kick off.
"Eagles need to put on their thinking garb and work in unison if they want to get anything out of the Wednesday clash. We can do it.
We only need encouragement. The game, billed for Espanyol's Cornella-El Prat Stadium, will be the second time both teams will confront each other at any level.
In the first-ever meeting the Seleccio Catalana thumped the Super Eagles 5-0 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on December 22, 1998.
