Nigeria National League chairman, Emeka Inyama has disclosed that he is optimistic the new season which started December 22 will set the pace for new trends that will greatly benefit players and officials of the clubs in the second tier League.
Inyama told Goal.com that the management of the league body has made adequate plans to make the lower division attractive.
"I want to say that everything is going on well for us since the new season started December 22. Clubs have been able to win away from home and away teams have started picking up points.
"But apart from what the clubs are doing, we want to be able provide an enabling environment for all stakeholders involved in the game in the Nigeria National League.
"We are discussing with a reputable company to come and sponsor the league and talks are on going. The clubs should be able to take something home no matter how small and they is what we intend to do.
"Apart from getting a sponsor for the league, we also want to make sure that Nigerian get to see the players in the National League.
"We are talking with some television stations for highlight shows for only the National League because we want to show case the talent in the players.
"We have taken time to approve good stadia for the clubs because only a good pitch will bring out the best in a good player.
"The League board is ready to surpass whatever achievement we recorded last year. We are eager to present a champion that would truly be called a champion at the end of the season," Inyama said.
Nasarawa United, Nembe City, Bayelsa United and El-Kanemi gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier League at the end of last season.
