The Flying Antelopes got a resounding victory in Anambra State to lift their spirits ahead of the 2012 Nigeria Premier League season
Enugu Rangers beat Anambra side Nanka Selected 4-0 in an inter-state friendly match played on December 31, 2012 to mark the end of the year.
Two goals from Sanusi Sani, Seun Taro and Haliru Umar were all the Flying Antelopes needed to brush aside the boastful Nanka Selected side.
Foster Chime, Rangers' media officer and aspiring recruit, Nzubechi Anezemba both described the tie as interesting and a comfortable victory.
Chime told Goal.com; "We won the match 4-0 and it was a comfortable win for us.
“We didn't play with our full strength squad but we got a victory we hugely deserved based on our pedigree and our preparation for the match.
"We are still a work in progress and by the end of our camping exercises and the start of the league, we would have become a force to be seriously reckoned with in the race for the league title and other competitions on offer,” he added.
Anaezemba on his part who is still to be completely cleared from Enyimba stressed that they knew they would win the match even before the start and the margin of the result showed their opponent was no match at all to them.
He prays for a quick resolution of the contract impasse between his aspiring new club and the Peoples' Elephant stating that a move to Enugu would be another phase in his fledging career.
