The Nigerian youngster is proving that he will challenge for the highest goal-scorer diadem come the end of the season in the Pro League
Imoh Ezekiel is proving to be a great hit in Belgium as he scored again in Standard Liege’s 3-0 win over Beerschot on Thursday.
The 19-year old former 36 Lions striker scored the third goal in Liege’s home win in the 67th minute to wrap up the first half of the 2012/13 season with 12 goals in 18 matches.
He also made history in Standard’s illustrious existence as he scored in five consecutive league matches making it seven goals in his last seven league matches.
He started the goals rain against Lierse on November 23, when he scored two goals. He did not score in the next match against Genk, which Standard Liege lost 1-0.
Then Ezekiel went on to score in the last five matches against Waasland-Beveren, Sporting Charleroi, Mechelen, Club Brugge and finally against Beerschot on Thursday.
With his 12 goals, Ezekiel is now five goals behind Carlos Bacca of Club Brugge. The Pro League will go on its winter break and resume on January 19, 2013 with Standard Liege away to Gent.
Also in Belgium, Derick Ogbu scored his fifth league goal for OH Leuven in their 2-1 loss to Zulte-Waregem on Wednesday.
