Christmas bonus tears Kwara United board apart

Supporters of the Ilorin based side are not happy with what is going on and have called on all stakeholders to settle whatever problem before the new season starts
The Board members of Kwara United United Football Club of Ilorin on Tuesday threw caution to the wind as they went for one another’s jugular fighting publicly over sharing formula of monetary allocation in the name of Christmas bonus.

According to a source who was present at the scene of the incident, the board members did not care who was there as they practically tore into themselves because of the money.

The members, the source noted, who ignored settling hotel accommodation and feeding of camped players and the Technical Adviser’s PHCN residence bill which led to disconnection, were busy sharing allocation at the expense of the team’s needs.

The uncaring attitude led to technical adviser Samson Unuanel's resolve to abscond before the intervention of the supporters club which prevailed on him to stay back.

The coach is tired of what is happening and decided to leave Ilorin before the supporters club told him to come back to resume training. learnt that the supporters levied themselves and contributed to placate the technical adviser.
The supporters are said to be calling for quick intervention to nip the crisis in the bud before it consumes and affects the team in the new season.

Kwara United finished in the sixth position with 52 points last season.

Efforts to get the media officer of the club to react on the developments proved abortive as his phone was swtiched off
