The draws for the commencement of the 2012/13 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season as well as the Super 4 has been fixed for Kano in January, Goal.com has been told.
The Chairman of Kano Pillars, Alhaji Abba Galadima who made this known in a brief chat said that Kano State has been given the nod to host both events.
Galadima says Kano is prepared to be a good host and prove there is no security challenge in the pyramid state.
"The Super 4 is coming up in January as well as the draws for the new premier league season. Both events are happening in Kano and we are ready to be good host and to prove doubters wrong that Kano can host both events without any security concerns," Galadima enthused.
He also expressed efforts being made to put Pillars in the right perspective ahead of their crunch CAF Champions League preliminary round fixture against the Central African Republic's Olympique de Bangui in the weekend of 15th-17th February,2013 same weekend the NPL is scheduled to commence across the country.
He said: "We already envisaged that the league season would start in February next year hence the series of tune matches that have been organised to put the team in good stead to face the rest of Africa and not just our preliminary round opponents.
"We were in Niger Republic for a pre season tournament and also attended another in Kaduna where we gave a very good account of ourselves."
