Rizespor striker, Uche Kalu has said that he is set to score goals for his club so they can maintain their top position on the table in the second tier League in Turkey.
Rizespor are now seventh on the league table and are aiming to improve on that position to gain promotion at the the end of the season.
Kalu who has played 12 matches told Goal.com that he is happy with his performance for the team last weekend when he scored a beautiful free kick to take his goals tally to nine.
"I was recruited to score goals and thank God I am doing just that. Majority of the nine goals that I have scored are so important because they turned out to be match-winning strikes which greatly lifted my team on the League table.
"I have always maintained that my goals will mean nothing if after scoring, we lose most of the matches. I want to continue to do my best in the remaining matches. I want to play well and also help other players to score if I am not in the position to get the goals.
"My desire is for Rizespor to gain promotion at the end of the season. That would make me happy because it has been my wish from the beginning of the season to play a part in the promotion of the team to the elite division.
"Last weekend I returned from the burial of my father three days before a game to score a beautiful free kick goal against Sanliurfaspor.
"In spite of the fatigue from the trip from Nigeria, I decided to play since the coach has found me worthy to select me for the game.
"All the players have resolved to continue to do well until the end of the season," Kalu said.
Uche Kalu is on a one year loan from Enyimba in the Nigeria Premier League.
