The Sand Eagles player has revealed his ambition for the second edition of the Beach Soccer tournament
Super Sand Eagles player, Bartholomew Ibenegbu has disclosed that he is eager to contribute his quota to the success of the team at the second edition of the Copa Lagos so he can win the trophy for his new wife.
The Heartland midfielder got married to his heartthrob Esom Lilian Chinenye last weekend in Mongwo, Enugu State.
He told Goal.com that he will soon hit the camp of the team in Badagry to start training earnestly for the upcoming tournament.
"I want to train very well because I want to win the trophy for my wife. You know we just got married and I want to dedicate the trophy to her.
"She is the woman I am going to spend the rest of my life with so winning and dedicating the trophy to her will be the first thing I will do for her.
"I don't have any fears in the ability of the team to retain the Copa Lagos. Against all odds, we defeated Brazil, England and South Africa last year.
"Although we don't have a functional Beach Soccer League in Nigeria, the three countries that are coming cannot stop us from retaining the trophy.
"We know what is at stake and have enough motivation to win the trophy again.
"I know my wife will be watching me play in the tournament and I am going to do everything possible for the team to emerge champions again," Ibenegbu added.
Nigeria, Lebanon, Portugal and Argentina will take part in the tournament which enters its second edition this year from December 14 - 16 in Lagos and will be hosted at the Eko Atlantic City.
