The Kano side did well to surmount the opposition from home side in the first match of the Kaduna pre-season football tournament

Kano Pillars got off to a good start as they beat home side Ranch Bees 4-1 in the first game of the pre-season tournament going on in Kaduna.

The match which was played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, saw the boys from Kano display good positional play that endeared them to the scanty crowd that watched the match.

Former Heartland striker, Bello Koformata scored a brace in the 55th and 63rd minutes, before Rabiu Ali and Nafiu Ibrahim completed the rout in the 72nd and 79th minutes.

Ranch Bees later got a goal in the dying minutes of the match.

Coach Baba Ganaru said after the game that he is happy with the way his boys played and noted that they will take the tournament serious because it is part of their preparation for next season.

"We are going to take all games serious and the boys did well against Ranch Bees," Ganaru said.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament.
