Winner claims signed Obafemi Martins’ Levante jersey
The winner of the Goal.com signed jersey promo was given his prize on Friday
The Goal.com promo to win a signed Obafemi Martins Levante jersey got its first winner on Friday – Chuks Ossai from Ebute Metta in Lagos.
The 26 year-old Computer Science student of the Lagos State University, Jibowu Campus, received his prize at a presentation ceremony.
“Martins is someone that I have been following and considering he grew up around Ebute-Metta, he is somebody I have naturally followed and I just want him to do well,” Ossai said.
“Anywhere he goes, I just want him to do well and score goals because that is what we all love to see – and those somersaults.”
He also wished Martins luck in Levante’s match against Barcelona on Saturday. “I hope he shocks those guys at Nou Camp as the defence of Barcelona is currently off and we are praying that he should exploit this lapse.
Seyi Aduloju, who is Martins’ media officer, presented the prize alongside Goal.com Nigeria’s chief editor, Lolade Adewuyi, said that the Levante striker wants to reach out more to his fans in Nigeria especially in the coming year.
“He wants to reach out more which he hasn’t been doing before now but he is now really excited and he is ready to do a lot more to make his fans happy and bring them closer.”
Aduloju also promised that the next winner of the signed jersey will have the chance to meet the striker in the flesh.
“The next signed jersey will be presented by Martins himself with some more prizes and next year he will be doing a lot more for his foundation,” Aduloju concluded.
Another promo to win a second signed jersey will commence next week Monday, November 26, 2012.
"We are using this opportunity to connect the fans of our website to their favourite Nigerian football stars and we think it is a win-win for everyone," said Adewuyi.
