Pa Ezeogo John Izuka Kalu, 83, will be buried in his hometown Ndi Ikpe. Eziama Autonomous Cmmunity in Igbere Bende Local Government Area, Abia State
He was a newspaper vendor until his death.
Uche Kalu who joined Rizespor, a second division club side in Turkey after the death of his father arrived the country on Monday told Goal.com the important role his father played in his life.
"My father was a man who always made sure we go through the right path inspite of the difficult situations in life.
"He was somebody that is always contended with what God has given to him and he impacted that virtue into my life.
"He encouraged me so much in my career as a footballer right from my days with Bussdor football club of Port-harcourt.
"Even when I joined Enyimba he was there for me.
"My only regret is that at the time I expected him to start enjoying and reaping the benefits of what he has done in my life, he died.
"I will really miss him," Uche confessed.
