We can’t force Nedum Onuoha to play for Eagles - NFF

Musa Amadu says that the QPR defender will only be invited to play for the Super Eagles if he signifies intention
General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Amadu has lashed out at people clamouring for the inclusion of Queens Park Rangers central defender, Nedum Onuoha to go and talk to the player to show interest in playing for his fatherland first before talking of inviting him to the team.
The administrator told Goal.com that in as much as the Federation desires to cap every good and quality players home or abroad, they don’t have the powers to force any player to play for his or her country.
Amadu who did not feign ignorance of the quality of the player who can play as right back, left back and central defender is however not happy that Onuoha is not showing much interest in playing for Nigeria hence his blackout from the Eagles up to date.
“It is not for me to invite Nedum Onuoha. If [Stephen Keshi] invites him and if the player is willing to play for the country, then we will do all the processing that is needed. It is of course for the player to signify his interest to play for Nigeria if he is not interested we cannot force him,” he disclosed.
Amadu, however, stated that the Secretariat of the NFF is ready any time to process the papers of the player any time he indicates interest to play for Nigeria and at any time the coach in charge signifies interest in calling him to join the team.
“We are ready to do our part of the job if any players overseas of dual citizenship signify interest in playing for Nigeria. We will surely handle the process with utmost discharge,” he assured.
