Former Kwara United handler has resigned as coach of the women national team after he failed to retain the AWC trophySuper Falcons coach, Kadiri Ikhana has resigned as coach of the Super Falcons after the team failed to retain the African Women Championship which they won two years ago in South Africa.
Ikhana threw in the towel immediately the team returned from the African Women Championship in Equatorial Guinea where they lost to South Africa in the semi finals and also failed to beat Cameroon in the third place game.
Ikhana said in Abuja that he will not continue as coach of the team after he failed to meet the terms of his contract.
"For failing to meet up with the terms of my cntract which stipulates that I will win the AWC trophy, I hereby resign as coach of Super Falcons.
"I also resign because I fail to meet my personal tatrget at the Championship which is to retain the trophy won by the team two years ago" Ikhana said.
The Super Falcons placed fourth in the tournament to record their worst outing in the history of the Championship.
