The preparation of Insurance Football Club for the forthcoming football season in the Nigeria National League may be disrupted as the players now live in fear of snakes in their camp in Benin.
The camp which is located at Commercial Avenue opposite The Lodge Hotel, GRA Benin which is on the same street with Police Officers Mess is gradually turning into a no-go area for the players.
Goal.com learnt that three snakes were killed last week and the players are not comfortable staying in the camp except the the management does something about it.
"We are supposed to be preparing for the National League which begins on the 8th of December, but we cannot sleep in the night or do anything in the daytime because we concentrate all our energy into killing snakes," a source close to the club said..
"Last season, we barely escaped relegation and when we are supposed to be preparing, we are having this problem. But let us hope the authorities will do something about it and we can have the rest of mind to train and get ready for the new season."
An official of the club told Goal.com that everything will be done to rectify the situation.
"We are going to make sure that the camp is conducive for the players. Such thing should not be happening in a big club like Insurance of Benin when we should be talking about getting ready to do well in the National League and gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier League".
