The Super Eagles have been advised to treat their matchup against the Walya Antelopes very carefullyWhen the draws for the 2013 Nations Cup were made on Wednesday and Nigeria got drawn into Group C with defending champions, Zambia, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia, most football fans in the country will have started counting the three points against Ethiopia as a sure banker.
But former Green Eagles goalkeeper, Joe Erico has advised the players of the Super Eagles and the coaching crew to make sure that they are well prepared for the Ethiopians, who are returning to the Nations Cup stage after an absence of 31 years.
“There are no minnows again in football, especially in Africa," Erico said to Goal.com.
“I can remember that we played against them last year in a Nations Cup qualifier and we could only manage a draw. And they will be prepared for this appearance.
“So as much as the Eagles will prepare well to face Burkina Faso and Zambia, I want the team to prepare well against Ethiopia and the coaching crew must make sure that they are psychologically ready.
“We might need that victory to qualify for the second round," he added.
