Keshi awed by big win over Liberia
The handler of the Super Eagles has expressed his delight at the emphatic win but added he surprised at the scoreline
Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has informed Goal.com that his mouth was wide agape for most part of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying encounter between his team and the Lone Stars of Liberia n Saturday.
The Nigerians displayed good artistry as they got an emphatic 6-1 victory over the visitors and qualified for South Africa 2013 8-3 on aggregate.
Keshi who said he knew that a victory was non-negotiable stressed he never envisaged such drubbing and has thanked everyone that had a part in the team's progress to South Africa, most especially the Cross River government, the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) and all Nigerians.
According to Keshi: "I knew we were going to qualify but I never foresaw six goals. We thank God for the victory, I dedicate the Nations cup ticket to all football lovers in the country.
"Calabar fans are great, we enjoy their support. The governor has been good to us and everyone here is with the mindset of progress."
