Ahmed Musa dedicates goal against Liberia to his birthday

The CSKA Moscow of Russia man says his strike against the Lone Stars was to celebrate his anniversary which holds today

Super Eagles forward and CSKA Moscow of Russia player, Ahmed Musa has dedicated his wonder strike against Liberia's Lone Stars to himself as he marks his 20 years of birth today.

Musa who was all over the Liberians capped his fine display with a goal he converted in the 39th minute for his country's second goal of the night in the 6-1 annihilation of the West African foes.

Speaking with Goal.com shortly after the tie, Musa stressed that he was thrilled to have scored a goal and would celebrate his birthday today in the Eagles camp in style.

He said it was time to start real work to ensure that the Eagles made meaningful impact at the Nations Cup and added that the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations ticket got after the Liberian bashing was the most fitting birthday gift he ever wished for.

"I am happy to emerge as one of the goals scorers. This one I scored [yesterday] is a goal I have dedicated to myself as I mark my birthday [on Sunday]," Musa said.

Musa was born on 14 October, 1992. After featuring for Nigerian clubs JUTH of Jos and Kano Pillars after his humble beginning at the Aminchi Football Academy in Jos, the youngster has moved to Europe and is currently with CSKA Moscow after a spell with VVV Venlo of Holland.
