All the three goalkeeper invited for the match against Liberia are showing the goalkeeper trainer that if chosen they will be up to the task
The Super Eagles goalkeepers’ trainer, Ike Shorunmu has been given the pleasant headache of being spoilt for choice ahead of the match against Liberia on Saturday as all three goalkeepers in camp have shown exceptional fitness in training.
“All they need is a little pep up from the public perception of them and we are already getting results even on that”, Shorunmu said after Monday morning training at the Abuja Stadium practise pitch.
Shorumu drilled the three goalkeepers greatly and he was visibly content at the end of the session.
“I’m happy at the form of all the three keepers and I must say any of them can be in goal on Saturday with what I have seen so far.
Shorunmu then appealed to the football fans not to keep blaming any team mistake on the goalkeepers as it takes all 11 players on a pitch to lose a match.
“These are some of the best goalkeepers in the world and there is no goalkeeper, no matter how great that cannot make mistakes.
“We must be careful the way we criticize so that we don’t destroy the team and even the careers of our players,” the former Super Eagles number one added.
