The local government football competition will start in November in Delta State
Expressing satisfaction with the level of preparation for the football tournament the sponsor of the tournament, Prince Joe T. Penawou said the LOC has been able to provide enough facilities that will see to the comfort of all the participating teams and officials.
Prince Penawou who was in Bomadi for on the spot assessment of preparation for the competition said both the Olou Primary School and Ebikeniye Primary School, Kpakiama, Bomadi football pitches to be used for the competition have been put in good shape for the knock-out phase.
The First Marine and Engineering Services Ltd boss added that invitation letters have been extended to the sport commissioners in Bayelsa, and host Delta to grace the opening ceremony.
Prince Penawou commended the LOC for doing a great job and that he will spare nothing in ensuring that the competition achieves its desired goals in discovering young and budding talents for the country that would replace the present players in the national teams.
On the prize money at stake, Prince Penawou disclosed that as time goes on he will discuss with the relevant bodies to ensure that all participating teams are well motivated but for this year's edition all four teams in the semi-finals will be kitted.
Eight Local Government Councils namely Bomadi, Burutu, Patani, Warri South-West, Udu, Ugheli South from Delta while Sagbama and Ekeremor from Bayelsa will be taking part in this year’s edition that is expected to end on November 10.
