Former Enugu Rangers star striker Chikeluba Ofoedu scored twice for Turkish club 1461 Trabzon in his home debut to secure victory against Adanaspor. These goals have now attracted offers from Turkish giants; Besiktas and Fenerbahce in the Turkish first flight.
Ofoedu came on as a second-half substitute, and scored both goals in an eight minute spell. The first came in the 57th minute; the equaliser and then he scored the winner in the 65th minute.
Ofoedu told Goal.com from is base in Turkey that he was happy to have made such an impressive debut for the club he joined on a short term loan.
“I am really happy to score in my debut, I will say it is God and hard work,” Ofoedu told Goal.com.
“I can't wait to score more goals and prove myself in the Turkish league,” he added.
Ofoedu also added that he is in no rush to play for the Super Eagles team, as the final phase of the 2012 qualifier against Liberia draws closer as he wants to concentrate on club career at the moment.
Ofoedu’s goals have now taken 1461 Trabzon to the top of the summit of Lig 1 with 10 points from four matches and in prime position for promotion at the end of the season.
