Lobi Stars midfielder, Jonah Abutu has told Goal.com that he wants to join any team in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) that will pay adequately for his services next season.
Abutu who played an integral part of Lobi’s success in the just concluded season noted that he is eager to join the club that will pay him well.
“I am not saying I want to leave Lobi Stars because I enjoyed my time with them all through last season," Abutu told Goal.com.
"But I am for the highest bidder next season because the time is ripe for me to begin to make money from the game.
“Lobi Stars did their best and they can still do more next season. They took care of us and this is the time for them to increase the value placed on us. But if they don’t, then there are other clubs that will be ready to do that.
“We have an extremely talented side and playing in the continent next year means, there is a need for continuity in the playing staff.
"If the management can retain the bulk of the players needed, then adding few players will help the team in the Confederation Cup and the Nigeria Premier League,” Abutu added.
The former Dolphins star further revealed that clubs are coming in their numbers to ask for the signature of the players of Lobi Stars.
“I have decided that the club that shows seriousness in paying me for what I do is the club that I will sign for, although I still love Lobi Stars and would want to remain with them for the Confederation Cup.”
Goal.com learnt that Rangers, Sharks and Dolphins are among the NPL clubs already eyeing Abutu for next season.
