The Afonja Warriors have disclosed that they will announce a new trainer in midweekKwara United will on Wednesday unveil a new coach for the coming season. Goal.com learnt that over 18 coaches that applied for the job have been trimmed down and successful candidates will be announced on Tuesday and interviews will also be conducted on that day before the new coach will be revealed on Wednesday.
"The stage is set for a new coach to be announced for Kwara United. The board is happy that a lot of coaches applied to hadle the team," said a source close to the team.
"All things being equal, Nigerians will know who the next coach will be on Wednesday this week.
"There are lot's of anxiety concerning who the next coach will be. The supporters are also eager to know the man who will be in charge of the team next season.
"Coaches like former Ocean Boys coach, Samson Unanel, Fatai Amao, Niger Tornadoes handler, Justin Tenger are some of the coaches that will be considered for the job.
"So everything is set and as soon the coach is revealed, he gets set to work immediately. There is so much to be done because Kwara United could not meet the expectations of the supporters last season.
"So they want to take next season very serious. And one way of being serious is for a coach to start work immediately.
"I am sure Kwara United will do well next season because the government is serious about bringing back the lost glory of the team.
"Nobody knows the next coach, but on Wednesday everything will be settled," the source said.
