The U-17 National team have qualified for the finals of the African Championship in Algeria after walloping their Nigerien counterpartsThe Golden Eaglets beat the Junior Menas of Niger Republic 6-0 in the second leg of the African U17 Championship qualifiers played in Calabar on Saturday.
The Eaglets had won the first leg in Niamey 4-1 in the first leg, and qualified by a staggering 10-1 aggregate over the two legs.
The U-17 side have now qualified to represent Nigeria in the tournament that will be played in Algeria, where they will try and qualify to represent Africa at the U17 World Championships.
The Golden Eaglets have been in splendid form since coach Garba Manu took over and Nigerians are optimistic that a new generation of players will be produced from the team.
Assistant coach, Emmanuel Amuneke is confident they will do well in Algeria.
"We will do our best to justify the confidence reposed in us," Amuneke said.
