Three top coaches are presently jostling to become the head coach of Kwara United. The coaches are former Warri Wolves handler, Lawrence Akpokona, Niger Tornadoes' Justin Tenger and Alphonsus Dike whose last stint was with Enugu Rangers.
Goal.com gathered that all three coaches have submitted their curriculum vitae to the board of the club who want to get a new trainer after Tunde Sanni did not meet the expectations of the club, although Sanni is still angling to remain in charge.
A top source disclosed to Goal.com that the board knows exactly what it wants in the type of coach for next season and will not have any problem choosing from the four candidates.
"All the coaches have submitted their papers and very soon, the board will invite and interview them. But let me assure you that they will not waste time on the new coach," said the source.
"The board members are eager to allow the coach to start working and the coach might even be named before the players come back from their break of two weeks.
"So everybody is getting ready for the next move of the board, but a new coach will be announced soon so that he can take charge of preparation for next season".
Kwara United finished in the sixth position last season with 52 points.
