The coach of the Kano side says the team is poised to do well in the continent's most prestigious club competition after winning the Nigeria Premier League last week
Ganaru who led the team to a place in the Champions League in his first full season with the team noted that they have everything for them to put up a good representation in the competition.
"Nobody should be surprised that we are the champions of the Nigeria Premier League. We derserve to be. And I want to say that we are going to do well in the Champions League next year," Ganaru told Goal.com.
"We have good players that are eager to make their mark in the contitnent. They have tuned their minds to the fact that Kano Pillars will not just make up the numbers in the competition.
"The confidence they have shown has given me joy to start early preparation for the competition. And you know that we are going to fortify the team in all departments to make sure that we don't have any problems when the competition begins.
"The management is also working hard to make sure that everything is provided for us as we start preparing for the new season.
"They have shown they want us to suceed and we are not going to fail them.
"The Kano State Government is also ready to provide the funds for us to go far in the Champions League. That is why I am sure that Pillars will not just make up the numbers when the competition begins.
"I know it will take hard work and determination, but we are ready to brave all odds to succeed in the competition," Ganaru said.
Kano Pillars and Rangers will represent Nigeria in the Caf Champions League next year.
