The Naze Millionaires agreed that the NPL verdict came late but they have backed its decision to expel Ocean Boys

Heartland of Owerri have backed the decision of the Nigeria Premier League to expel Ocean Boys and their points deducted in line with the rules governing league matches for the season.

The club's General Manager, Fan Ndubuoke in a brief chat disclosed that though the decision by the NPL was belated it was the best for the growth of football in the country and a good precedent for upcoming seasons.

"I think NPL made the right decision and I am happy justice has taken precedence at long last. The rules are there for people to abide with and it has no respect for anybody.

"What they should do next time to immediately enforce the rules so that no club will make noise when the rules apply.

"My only grouse with the NPL is that the league body came up with a decision very late. The decision when it eventually came showed that no club is above the law and it will make other clubs to sit up," Ndubuoke said.

The former President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria said that the Naze Millionaires would still be motivated to win their last match of the season at home to Akwa United and end the season on a high note after recently winning the 2012 Federation Cup which the club successfully defended after winning it a year earlier.
