Niger Tornadoes' hotshot has indicated his resolve to end the league season as the best striker in the country
Before his trip to Israel, Gwar has scored 16 goals and with ABS' Abdulrahman Bashir on his trail with a goal less, the Benue-born striker revealed to Goal.com that increasing his goals tally is what is on his mind as they welcome Golden Stars on Friday to the Bako Kotangora Stadium, Minna.
"I have my sights set on winning the highest goals scorer's award. I am not happy that I will not be able to break the record of 20 goals set by Jude Aneke last season but you can never rule out anything in football," Gwar said.
"I will be contented with ending the season as top scorer in the NPL this season and it will be a fitting consolation to a season which I have seen both ups and downs.
"I will do all I can do to ensure that Tornadoes avoid relegation and then I can talk about my ambition to travel abroad.
"My goals may not count for nothing if the team is eventually relegated, but I am confident that we will retain our Premier League status," Gwar told Goal.com.
