thumbnail Hello,

The Insurance of Benin handler says the Makurdi side will beat Heartland when they meet on Sunday in the Federation Cup final

Former Warri Wolves coach, Lawrence Akpokona has told Goal.com that Lobi Stars are capable of beating defending champions Heartland when the two teams clash in the final of the Federation Cup on Sunday.

Akpokona noted that Heartland have the experienced players but may not be able to contain the young determined Lobi players.

"I know that Heartland is a very good side. They have very good players and can cause havoc when least expected. But they have not been consistent because of the financial situation in the team this season.

"The poor finances in the team has a way of slowing down the performanance of the players in every match. The management of the team will need to make the players raise their game to ensure that they cope with the pressure of playing in the final of a big competition like the Federation Cup.

"But Lobi Stars have been on the rise for a long time and the Benue State Government has fully supported the team. The fact that they are now second on the log in the Nigeria Premier League means they are capable of winning a double this season.

"I see a good game on Sunday and the team that needs it more seems to be Lobi Stars, although Heartland can spring a surprise and cannot give up easily," Akpokona said.

The third place game will see Kano Pillars engage Prime of Oshogbo.
