Ndubuisi Nduka: Heartland will retain the Federation Cup

The coach of the Naze Millionaires is optimistic that they will win the trophy again when they play in the final against Lobi Stars on Sunday

Heartland coach, Ndubuisi Nduka has boasted that the team will retain the Federation Cup they won last year when they play in the final on Sunday against Lobi Stars.

Heartland defeated Enyimba 1-0 in the final last year.

Nduka who led Plateau United to break the jinx of not winning the Federation Cup 13 years ago told Goal.com in Ilorin after the victory over Prime FC that the trophy will remain in Owerri for another year.

"I am so sure that we are going to win the trophy by beating Lobi Stars. I am not boasting because I know the caliber of players in my team,” Nduka said.

"I know Lobi Stars have a good team and have been doing well in the Nigeria Premier League, but it is going to be a different game entirely in the finals.

"The fact they defeated Kano Pillars means they are a very good side, but I have enough players to match them in all departments of the game.

"Nobody gave us a chance to play in another final and that is why we are going to give it everything we've got to make sure that we take the trophy back to Owerri.

"Heartland will retain the trophy and nothing will stop us from achieving that feat," Nduka said.
