The former U-23 captain will be joining the La Liga side in a four-year deal in the coming days
Former Nigeria U-23 captain, Nosa Igiebor will finally fulfil his dream of playing against the best when he signs for Real Betis in the coming days.
The one-cap Super Eagle has agreed personal terms with Betis but has to prosecute Thursday’s Europa League clash for his Israeli side, Hapoel Tel Aviv – which was part of the agreement reached.
The former Lillestrom midfielder will undergo a medical though it is supposed to be a routine check-up.
Igiebor joined Hapoel last summer for around 850,000 euros including add-ons and has now been sold for 1.2 million euros with a buyout clause of 15 million euros.
“Everything is now settled, [Nosa] Igiebor has agreed to join Real Betis on a four-year contract. He is on his way to Luxembourg for the Europa League qualifier against F91 Dudelange,” said Igiebor’s agent Atta Aneke to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“This weekend, I will travel with him to Spain to formalize the contract and for him to undergo the necessary medical,” Aneke added.
The sale of the Nigerian had been on for over a month as the Spanish club dallied on paying more than it proposed for the midfield prospect but as it is now, he could make his debut as early as next weekend against Rayo Vallecano.
