The trainer of the Kano side is optimistic they will emerge champions of the NPL this season as they play their final match away in Ijebu OdeKano Pillars coach Baba Ganaru has told Goal.com that his team will emerge the winners of the Nigeria Premier League tropgy at the end of the season.
Kano Pillars are presently on top of the league table with 64 points and need to get a win against Sunshine Stars in the last game in Ijebu Ode to be crowned the winners of the League title.
Ganaru said that a lot of football fans did not give them any chance to go to Uyo and get a win against Akwa United.
"I want to say it again that Kano Pillars is the best team in Nigeria and we are going to be champions this year. This is not the first time I am saying this.
"I know the capabilities of the players in my team and I remained confident all through the season that we are going to lift the trophy.
"When we travelled to Uyo, nobopdy believed we could get a result in that match. But we showed champions stuff by getting the three points from that game.
"Now we have just one game to go and it is an away game against Sunshine Stars in Ijebu Ode. We are going to win and we will take the trophy back to Kano from Ijebu Ode after the game against the Akure side.
"There was no time we felt playing two away matches will be a problem for us. That is because we know the stuff we are made of.
"We made our jobs easy after we beat Akwa United in Uyo. Now we are going to approach the last game against Sunshine Stars with all seriousness.
"I don't have any doubt in my mind that we are going to win in Ijebu Ode to be crowned Champions of 2012," Ganaru boasted.
No date has been fixed for the last game of the season.
