The Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw in their game on Wednesday in Niamey as they made final preparations ahead of the Afcon qualifier against Liberia
The Super Eagles played a goalless draw against the Mena of Niger in Wednesday’s international friendly match in Niamey.
Even though the hosts fielded a full strength team with eight players called from their foreign clubs, they could not open up the defence of the visitors who were drawn from the local league.
Stephen Keshi’s boys proved a hard nut to crack for their opponents and they could have won the game.
The match was played inside a half full Stade Général Seyni Kountché under the glare of the hot sun.
Nigeria used this game as preparation for next month’s crucial final 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Liberia in Monrovia.
Nigeria will host the Lone Stars in the second leg in October.
