The Nigeria's U-20 team are through to the next round of the AYC qualifiers after a 4-1 aggregate victory over their Tanzanian counterparts in IlorinNigeria's U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles have progressed to the final round of the African Youth Championship(AYC) qualifiers after they defeated the Ngorongoro Heroes of Tanzania 2-0 for a 4-1 aggregate win over both legs.
The Nigerian representatives got the much needed return leg triumph courtesy of goals from impressive Dolphins of Port Harcourt striker, Abduljelil Ajagun in the 25th minute and Alhaji Gero's 67th minute penalty kick.
The AYC defending champions already made light work of the return leg clash that was played at the Ilorin Township Stadium when they went to Dares-Sa-lam to record a 2-1 away win on July 29th during the initial leg with Rangers' striker, Gero's double only halved by Tanzania.
The win confirmed the Flying Eagles' place in the last round where they will face South Africa's Amajitas over two legs first in Johannesburg on September 8 and then later in Ilorin on September 22. The winner after both legs will earn a place in the AYC slated for Algeria next year.
