The U-20 women’s team will start final training towards the FIFA World Cup that begins on August 18 in Japan
The Nigeria U-20 women's team, the Falconets will begin training in South Korea on Saturday as they begin the journey to eclipse their silver finish at the last World Cup in Germany in 2010.The girls were also buoyed by the arrival of new Adidas training apparel. The team observed a rest day on Friday after they arrived after a long journey to the Asian country on Thursday.
"We had to allow the girls rest rather than bombard them with more training," Coach Edwin Okon said.
The team, lodged at the Namhae Sports Park, are spoilt for choice of training pitches as the Park boasts 12 standard football pitches.
"We may end up having a feel of all of them for our convenience and suitability. I have gone round each one and they are all top class.
"We have just 15 days to our opening match against South Korea so you can see that there is no time to waste. Every time from now must be properly utilised to get the best from the players, Okon added.
Nigeria is in Group B with Korea Republic, Brazil and Italy.
