Two home-based stars of the national team have assured their fans that the team will be ready for the Liberia challenge
Kano Pillars midfielder, Gabriel Reuben and Sunshine Stars defender, Godfrey Oboabona, have revealed that whatever happens, the Super Eagles will be ready for the first leg against Liberia in Monrovia on September 8.
Reuben helped Kano Pillars side to a 3-2 win with the winning goal on Monday said he is fit for the national assignment.
“As you can see I’m ready and very fit and anytime we get to camp, I will prove my mettle in training and in match situation,” the scorer against Malawi in June said.
Oboabona was part of the Sunshine Stars team that got a credible 0-0 away draw against Etoile Sahel of Tunisia in the CAF Champions league and he said the players will not be under-rating Liberia for the 2013 Nations Cup ticket.
“No, we have not and will never underrate any team in the qualifiers, but we know that we are better in all departments than Liberia and we will prove it in both legs of the qualifier”, he said,” said Oboabona.
