James Okwuosa: Rangers will qualify from Group C of Federation Cup

The Captain of Flying Antelopes is optimistic the team will be one of the two qualifiers from the group in the Federation Cup
Rangers captain James Okwuosa has told Goal, com that he is optimistic the team will qualify for the quarter finals of the Federation Cup after they were drawn in Group C for the zonal matches.

Rangers will play its matches against Sharks, Prime FC and Dynamites of Benin at the Lokoja Center.

Okwuosa noted that all the four teams are good, but said Rangers will have an advantage because of the form they have shown in the Nigeria Premier League thus far.

"It is a good draw. When I saw the teams in our group, I told myself that we must work hard to move into the quarter finals, even though we have a good chance of qualifying.

"Sharks is a team that we know so well having played against them inn the Premier League. When you look at Prime of Oshogbo who played in the National League, you will understand that they have a good side after they defeated Premier League side Wikki Tourists in the round of 64.

"Prime also have good players especially their striker, Akon who got a hattrick in their last game. This is one player that we must put our eyes on in Lokoja.

"Dynamites from Benin are the dark horses. I understand the team is a collection of experienced good players who could not get to join clubs in the Premier or National League that came together to form the team.

"They have John Ofomba and Charles Omokaro and some other good players that are not well known.

"So you can see that it is going to be a tough group. But I am so sure that Rangers will pull through because we also have good players who want to re-write the history of the club.

"I am not underrating any team, but I believe Rangers will be one of the teams that will qualify for the quarter finals at the end of the zonal matches," Okwuosa boasted.

Lagos, Bauchi and Port-Harcourt are the other centers that will host matches in the zonal qualifiers which begins July 16 through 20.
