The ex-3SC player died after a prolonged fight with heart disease at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan
Former Shooting Stars Sports Club defender Samuel Ojebode has died. He passed on at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan on Wednesday after a long fight with heart disease, Goal.com learnt.
Ojebode, 67, had taken ill since 2011.
The former captain of the Oluyole Warriors between 1974 and 1980 helped the team to win their first continental trophy in 1976. The Africa Cup Winner Cup was the first trophy won by a Nigerian club on the continent.
Mutiu Adepoju, general manager of the club expressed sadness at the passing of the legend.
It is the third 3SC legend that has passed on in recent times following the death of Joe Appiah and Rashidi Yekini.
