NPL postpones Sunshine Stars tie against Kaduna United because of Champions League game

In a bid to allow the Akure side prepare very well for their Champions League against Esperance, they will not meet Kaduna United on Wednesday
The Nigeria Premier League has decided to shift Wednesday's game between Kaduna United and Sunshine Stars because of the Akure side's Champions League game against Esperance on Saturday.

Officials of the League organising body noted that Sunshine Stars cannot travel to Kaduna on Wednesday to take on Kaduna United because they will not return to Ijebu Ode on time for their game against Esperance.

"The team needs all the support so that they can start the league stage of the Champions League on a good note. That is why we want to allow them to fully concentrate on their preparations for the game.

"I am very sure that Sunshine Stars will do their best against Esperance of Tunisia next Saturday," said Executive Secretary Tunji Babalola.

Sunshine Stars are already in Benin where they hope to perfect startegies for the Champions League game against the visiting Tunisians.
