The Federation Cup has once again shown that no team is a minnow as some big teams have crashed out in the first hurdleIt was upsets galore in round 64 of the Federation Cup as two Nigeria Premier League sides Shooting Stars and Wikki Tourists were knocled out of the competition.
Fame Academy from Lagos created the first upset as they beat 3SC 2-1 in the match played in Sagamu. The Ibadan side took the lead in the 37th minute through Ighodalo Osagona. The Fame Academy drew level through Obieje Ugo in the 69th before Adigwe Victor sealed victory for them three minutes from regulation time.
Shooting Stars were without most of their regular players who were not registered for the competition as they joined the team in the middle of the season.
National League side Prime of Oshgbo also beat Wikki Tourists in Minna.
But NPL leaders Rangers managed to edge out Hajaig 2-1 in a highly contested game played at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
Ejike Uzoenyi and Efe Yarehe scored for the Flying Antelopes in the second half, while Hajaig scored their goal through a penalty.
Jude Aneke got a brace for Warri Wolves as they defeated Olorunda 3-1. Mike Okoyoh scored the third goal for Wolves.
In Lokoja, Kwara United defeated Mbaise Lions 3-1 with Bala Zakka, Anthony Okemiri and Suleiman Salim scoring the goals.
Sharks triumphed over Niger Tornadoes feeder team 3-0.
