Trainer of last year's winners of Gulder Five A Side trophy is optimistic of repeating the feat this year
Sheriff FC coach Ibrahim Salami has boasted that he will lead the team to win the trophy this year.
Salami led Sholley Babes to win the trophy last year, but because he moved to Ijebu Ode, the team changed its name and also played in the South West region of the competition.
Salami who spoke immediately after leading his team to beat Etienne FC from Enugu noted that he is looking forward to another time to celebrate with his team.
"I told you in Ijebu Ode that I am ready for the challenge of leading this new team to win another trophy. We did not really play well today against Etienne, but we got the job done.
"Now I am thinking of the next round of matches on Thursday and we are ready. In the first year, I came second as a coach, and just last year I won the trophy.
"And this year I want to repeat the feat by winning again. I know we have good teams remaining in the competition but Sheriff is clearly the best team," Salami said.
