Dolphins defender Victor Ezuruike has told Goal.com that they will beat Sharks in the Port Harcourt derby which comes up on Sunday at the Liberation Stadium.
The two teams have 45 points on the Nigeria Premier League table and they will battle for the three points at stake in the week 31 game of the NPL.
Ezuruike declared emphatically that this is the time to continue the good run of the team which has seen them cut the points’ difference with the top team to just one.
"I don't care what anybody says. This is the chance we have been waiting for to continue our upward movement on the league table.
"In the first round game we lost to Sharks 3-1, but this time around we are ready to take our pound of flesh. This is not the time to drop points.
"I am confident we can get the three points because we have a better team and are playing better football right now. So there should not be any problem in the game on Sunday at the Liberation Stadium.
"We know what is stake and cannot afford to make mistakes right now. This is the opportunity to move to 48 points and pile pressure on Rangers, Kano Pillars and Enyimba who are currently on top of the league table.
"Sharks have been playing well recently, but we just have to stop them on Sunday. The three points is ours because we need to win so that we can go and battle for more points in Ijebu Ode against Sunshine Stars next week Wednesday," Ezuruike boasted.
