Two Lagos based clubsides, TK Academy and De Royals have qualified to represent the Lagos Region in the Gulder Five A-Side football competition.
TK Academy defeated Blazers 3-1, while De Royals beat Spartacus 2-1 in the semi-finals inside the indoor sports hall at the National Stadium, Lagos.
The two teams will now join the 10 qualifiers from the five other regions to make up the 12 teams that will take part in the National Finals that comes up in Lagos in two weeks.
De Royals Captain,Kayode Kelvin said it was a sweet victory over Blazers. "We are happy because we trained very well to represent Lagos Region. Last year we won the trophy with the name Sholley Babes, but we had to change our name this year.
"We are going to be ready for the other 10 qualifiers from the other regions because we have a good team that can win the trophy again.
TK Academy Captain Oghenovo Uzezi noted that they are looking forward to the National Finals in Lagos.
"All we are interested in is the national finals. We have a good team that can go all the way to winning the trophy.
"I am very confident of the calibre of players in my team. So everybody should just watch out for us," Uzezi said.
